Privacy Policy
How information is used when you browse, share and contact the FileiPlay team.
1. Information collected
- Account information: your username, email address, password hash, account preferences and profile information you provide, including uploaded profile images.
- Tracker activity: torrent identifiers, peer and client details, IP address and port, uploaded and downloaded amounts, seeding status, completion history and related account statistics.
- Community contributions: uploads, comments, forum posts, chat messages and other information you submit through site features.
- Support and security information: contact details, request contents, replies, IP addresses and records used to investigate access problems, abuse and security incidents.
2. How information is used
Information is used to create and authenticate accounts, operate the tracker, calculate statistics and rewards, show community contributions, respond to support requests and protect the service against abuse. Required form fields identify information needed to process that request.
Email addresses are used for account-related messages, including activation and recovery where enabled. You can manage available email preferences through your account settings.
3. Visibility and connected services
Your username, profile information, contributions and some account statistics can be visible to other members according to the feature and your available privacy settings. Staff can access information needed for administration, support and moderation. Avoid posting sensitive personal information in community areas.
BitTorrent clients exchange connection details to establish peer connections. Other peers may see your IP address and client connection information when you participate in a swarm.
The site uses external resources for some features, such as fonts, icons, artwork and linked media. When your browser loads an external resource, the provider receives connection information, including your IP address. Hosting, email delivery and security infrastructure may also process information needed to provide those services. External websites have their own privacy policies.
4. Cookies and browser storage
Cookies support sessions, sign-in and security. Browser storage also remembers preferences such as your theme and, where supported, unfinished messages or drafts. Some features may not work if you block essential cookies or clear browser storage.
Use your browser settings to inspect or clear cookies and local storage. On a shared device, sign out and clear saved drafts when you finish.
5. Retention and account deletion
Account, activity and support records are stored by the service. Deleting an account does not necessarily remove all associated information: community contributions and some administrative records can remain, and backup copies may persist. Account-on-hold mode does not delete information.
Contact staff for information about the retention of a particular record or to request deletion. The applicable retention period and response depend on the information involved and any operational or legal requirements.
6. Privacy requests and questions
You can update available profile details and preferences in your account settings. To ask about your personal information, request access or correction, request deletion, or object to its use, contact the FileiPlay team. Describe your request without including your password, recovery code or tracker passkey. Staff may need to verify that the request relates to your account.
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection or portability, and to complain to a data protection authority. These rights can be subject to conditions and exceptions.
Changes to this policy will appear on this page. For questions about how the service handles your information, use the contact form.
